ResusSim 98 is a PC-based simulator of Advanced Life Support (ALS) aimed at doctors, medical students, nurses, paramedics, and other health care personnel. A real-time ECG is shown on the screen along with pictures of the relevant resuscitation situation. ResusSim contains 21 different patients including VF, VT, SVT, asystole, hypothermia, lightning strike and heart block. Each situation may develop differently from time to time, because of underlying advanced pathophysiological models with built-in random variation. The pathophysiological models are evidence based to the widest extent possible.

We have implemented a new method of intelligent debriefing. The program provides the user with a thorough evaluation of the treatment given, along with suggestions of the currently recommended treatment. The debriefing comments are extensively hyperlinked to the comprehensive help file containing algorithms and treatment strategies, drug descriptions/dosages, defibrillator documentation etc. The program runs under Windows 3.1, Windows 95/98/2000 & NT 4.0.

ResusSim 98 was developed with the aid and assistance of the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) and is approved and recommended by the ERC. There are also editions available in Italian and French and localized editions for Australia and Southern Africa. The localized editions are approved and recommended by the Australian Resuscitation Council, the Italian Resuscitation Council and the Resuscitation Council of Southern Africa. A German edition will also be available soon. Sophus Medical ApS is a young company, owned entirely by the employees, founded with the aim of making advanced medical software.
