The Internet Journal of Mental Health
ISSN: 1531-2941
Aims and Scope:
The Internet Journal of Mental Health is a peer reviewed online journal that accepts submissions with a broadly defined definition of mental health. This includes manuscripts discussing psychiatric disorders, psychological strengths, psychological difficulties, the interaction of physical and mental health, and the psychosocial aspects of both medical and psychiatric disorders.
The journal also welcomes manuscript submissions discussing the epidemiology, treatment, rehabilitation, prevention, cultural, and racial/ethnic aspects of the mental health of both individuals and communities. Empirical articles using either quantitative or qualitative methods are both of interest. General, systematic and meta-analytic reviews are all welcomed.
Peer reviews are done with the goal of offering constructive criticism and to help contribute findings to the scientific literature.
The journal is indexed in PsycINFO, CINAHL, Scopus, Directory of Open Access Journals, Academic Search Premier, Health & Wellness Resource Center, Health Reference Center Academic, and is listed in Cabell's Directory of Publishing Opportunities in Psychology and Psychiatry.
For those interested in becoming a peer reviewer for the journal, for questions whether a manuscript is of interest to the journal, or any other questions, please send an e-mail to Dr. Joshua Fogel, the Editor-in-Chief

Instructions for Authors
Article submissions are accepted via ISPUB's sister site, QuickMedPub.
Starting October 1, 2009 we have made the following changes:
- All articles have to be submitted via our submission web site at Quick Med Pub.
- Due to increased costs of article management, publishing, and storage combined with decreased revenues from advertisement since the beginning of the economic crisis in 2008 we are forced to implement author fees. Because all our editor-in-chief, editors, and reviewers still work for free we are able to keep the fees much below those charged by our competitors. Our competitors typically charge over US $ 1,600 for publication of your articles.
- We charge:
- A submission fee for all articles: US $ 25 (payable when submitting the article); we are currently waiving this fee and do not charge until noticed otherwise; please submit your article for free until we change this waiver of submission fees. The publication fee will still apply when your article is accepted.
- A publication fee for all accepted articles: US $ 225 (payable before we publish; invoice will be emailed when the article is accepted)
- A correction fee:
- US $ 25 for author name changes or additions
- US $ 40 for correction within the text of the article after an article was published
- Discounts will be granted for lower income countries, students, and authors experiencing financial hardship. The amount of discount will depend on a variety of factors such as country of origin, quality of the article, originality of article, complete adherence to the guidelines (especially the way references are cited), and whether the author was invited personally to submit an article by an editor-in-chief. It is a privilege to receive a discount and this generosity from the publisher should not be abused. There is no guarantee that a discount will be granted. The discount key can be requested after signing in to our submission web site at www.quickmedpub.com and following the directions given to submit an article. The key can then be used to submit with lower fees.
- Please make sure you follow our submission guidelines:
- Submit as a single Word document
- Reduce file size of your images to about 300KB per image
- Insert images and/or tables into the correct location within the text
- Tables cannot be wider than a regular portrait size page
- Use the following format for your references:
- Name of authors: Title of article. Name of Journal; Year; Volume and number of journal: page numbers
- Example: Wilson ME, Spiegelhalter D, Robertson JA: Predicting difficult intubation. Br J Anaesth; 1988; 61: 211-216.
We are looking forwards to receiving your article. The new submission system will also allow you to check on the status of your article.
The following types of papers are accepted:
- Review articles
- Original papers

- Letters to the Editor
- Multimedia material such as streaming videos
General preparation of paper manuscripts
The author(s) transfer(s) the copyright to her/their article to Internet Scientific Publications, L.L.C., effective if and when the article is accepted for publication. The copyright covers the exclusive and unlimited rights to reproduce and distribute the article in any form of reproduction. Internet Scientific Publications, L.L.C. should be notified by the author if the submitted material has been published somewhere else. It is then the responsibility of the author to obtain authorization to re-publish the submitted material in our online journal. We will grant every author the right to re-publish all material that appeared in our online journals under the provision that the original source (name and URL of our online journal and URL of the original article in our journal) is mentioned.
All manuscripts should include a title, author information, an abstract and keywords, the main article, and references.
All paper manuscripts must be written in standard grammatical English. Authors who would like assistance in meeting this requirement are encouraged to contact BioScience Writers (http://www.bsw-llc.com/ispub) for language-editing services. Language-editing helps authors effectively communicate their research to fellow scientists and to the journal editors and reviewers.
ISPUB and our editors expect that all authors will disclose any commercial associations they have that might give rise to a conflict of interest in connection with the submitted article.
Please submit your articles at QuickMedPub
Policy on Plagiarism and Fraudulent Behavior of Authors:
Articles that are plagiarized, fraudulent, or in any other form compromising good academic policy will be removed immediately from our web site. We will not just remove the articles in question but also all articles by the same author(s). The author(s) are then also banned from submitting any further content to any of our online journals. No author fees will be reimbursed. We reserve the rights to take further legal action against the authors.
